Thursday it is. Tired I is. Email on my phone woke me up at 0500ish and I never got back to sleep. I did get more done on my map of killin sign last night. I only have tonight and tomorrow to get it done if I’m going to use it this week.
I suppose it’s time to get on with this. Warning this one has a long tirade! It’s more than a rant. First a big reminder section! Onward!
Really Important Reminder - FL Primary
If you’re in FL and an eligible voter, today’s the last day to request a vote by mail ballot.
If you’re not doing VBM, early voting starts tomorrow — Friday Aug 7. It ends Sunday Aug 16th. EV locations are open 1000-1800. Most libraries are EV locations. All EV locations, or at least my local libraries, have the drop boxes for VBM ballots.
If you choose to vote on election day, that is Tuesday Aug 18.
Whatever method you chose, VOTE DAMMIT! Even the non-partisan ballot has important local offices like judges on it. Some of those automatically win the office via the primary if sufficient thresholds are reached.
IMO, VBM is the best way to vote. I can do all my research in my comfy chair and color in all the right circles. Who am I kidding here? Y’all read my bitching and have figured out my politics by now. I’m coloring in the left circles. Then I take my ballot to a EV library and drop it in the box. Then the checking online for receipt and counting starts.
I must compliment our current Supervisor of Elections office in Duval County. I modified my registration to change my party affiliation to be able to vote in the Democrat primary kind of late. So my initial VBM ballot was the non-partisan one. I used their online messaging system to inquire. I had a very polite and helpful email response the next day. New correct ballot is here. Perfect! Note made to change the registration earlier next time 😎.

Treasonous Leakers
The U.S. has massive amounts of “munitions,” especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history. The “leakers” of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long term jail sentences will be sought!
Well sure, I have no doubt we have tons of regular bullets and whatnot. However, it’s no secret large numbers of offensive and defensive missiles have been used. The stock of that has to be dwindling. They take time to build. A single patriot missile takes months per search engine results.
He can brag all he wants about factories being built. Concepts of a factory can’t produce anything right now though.
I don’t get the “leakers” thing. No one needs anything leaked to talk about this. Rational thought is all that’s needed to conclude there’s a supply problem now or one is imminent.

Reflections on the Reflecting Pool
The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) is suing the peachy admin over the reflecting pool work. They’ve asked for an injunction to allow time for experts inspect its condition before anything else is done to it. The filing contends that the National Park Service’s repair plans could destroy evidence needed to determine the cause of all the new problems.
The bigger claim is in the quote from the filing below.
“Defendants also have undertaken to destroy some of the very evidence that could shed light on the veracity of Defendants’ claims”
Destroy the evidence of the real issue and blame others. The usual playbook. It hasn’t led to any legal accountability yet with the exception of 1 of E. Jean Carroll’s cases. Perhaps he’ll drown in a messy pool of his own making!
The Helipad
The giant peach recently ordered the contractors working on the new helipad to tear down weeks worth of work and re-do it. Why? He didn’t like how it looked.
The helipad is being built on the WH South Lawn which slants downward away from the building. He insists that the helipad be level with the horizon. Contractors are now trying to figure out whether to restart by altering the lawn itself. It’s unknown how much this will add to the already $5 million cost. Some of that is being funded by Lockheed Martin in conjunction with the new helicopter purchases.
It’s insane to tear down a perfectly functional installation because it ain’t level with the horizon. Little Lord Fauntleroy needs some more mashed potatoes dumped on his head. Where’s his brother when we need him?
He’s spending a reported up to $1.2 billion on his 18 vanity projects throughout DC. The Big ButtUgly Ballroom, The Trumphallic Arc, etc etc. How much taxpayer funding is never reported or made clear. WH officials have admitted there is some tax payer funding involved. His peachiness constantly touts private funding then that suddenly isn’t enough or magically disappears and the projects become 100% taxpayer funded.
Yet we cannot afford SNAP, Medicare/Medicaid, need to raise the SS retirement age, and so on. How about the government serve it’s people and not its inhabitants? I’m not disputing normal building maintenance. Old buildings do need repairs and modernization. They do not need gold spray paint everywhere! We do not need the arc, the ballroom, nor probably whatever the 16 other projects are that I cannot recall now!
However, if we’re going to build this shit anyway, get the damn design straight up front. Build it once not 300 times over! When the contractor simply fucks up as in the case of the LM Reflecting Pool make them fix it at their cost, not ours!

All the prognosticators that said they’d announce his death on 8/4 after the supposed 8/3 deadline were proven wrong.
I’ve stayed away from the daily speculation articles cause they all say the same thing. “We don’t know but if you click here we’ll speculate with drivel and get ad revenue”. It’s pointless.
The people of KY deserve to know if he’s capable of serving them in the Senate or will be within a reasonable time. If not, a replacement, temporary or otherwise, must be put in place by the process outlined in KY state law.
I’ve lost some respect for Gov Beshear here. Sure it’s advantageous to the Ds for the Rs to be down a vote in the Senate. However, the people of his state deserve proper representation.

Rape enabler at a minimum Sen Ron Johnson last night claimed he’d gotten a hold of a copy of Dr Fauci’s phone from during the peachy 1.0 admin. He insists the phone records are needed to answer all the questions Dr Fauci refused to last week.
First, the legal stuff here. IANAL!!! My understanding is once one has been pardoned, they are not allowed to “plead the fifth” in a legal setting. I’m unsure if a trumped up Congressional hearing rises to that standard. If it does legally does, then he should be held accountable.
Sadly all their ridiculous questions boil down to a lack of understanding of Science. See there’s this thing called the Scientific Method that I recall being taught, often a quick refresher, in every science class I’ve taken.
Now fair disclaimer, I took more than required cause I like science and math. I think the state requirements ended after 1/2 year of a science class between 9th and 12th grade. That could be faulty memory. Obviously, I had more science requirements to get the “Mathematics” and “BS” printed on that dusty degree up on the shelf.

Now during the COVID hype phase this was conducted in real time. The public world was the lab. It’s still a pandemic BTW. We simply have chosen to shove it on the back burner.
Many hypothesises were created and tested. Some were right; some were wrong; some we don’t yet know. The virus was also rapidly changing during the early part. Cause that’s what they do — mutate to survive.
Masks will work. But all parties in a small environment need to have them on for this to work. Sorry it’s inconvenient for some. I gave up long ago in most public settings. Not cause I don’t think they work. Because nobody else was wearing them so they couldn’t work. Also after 2026-02-09, what was COVID gonna do that stage 3c didn’t? My one exception is at the cancer center or other parts of the Mayo campus. If I see other’s wearing them, that’s my signal that they have immune issues. I respect that and put one on if I’m nearby. I’m grateful others did that for me in those places during my treatment.
Distancing also works. Is 3ft the right answer? Probably not. Maybe? The science wasn’t given a chance to learn before everyone gave up.
The vaccines also work. mRNA is a proven tech dating way back to the ‘70s for fucks sake. IT DOES NOT ALTER YOU! It does allow the tech and formulation to be changed quickly to react to a rapidly changing virus.
Whoever/Whatever convinced some that these vaccines were supposed prevent getting sick is something I’ll never understand. The FDA and manufacturers were very open with their results. They reduced the volume of disease in the body. This (1) made the sickness less intense and reduced the risk of death or needing hospitalization, and (2) reduced spread to some extent.
Science evolves as we learn more and understand more. Conclusions change and have to be fluid to react to a changing world that we’re trying to understand. Rigid thinking doesn’t work! Some, sadly won’t give up their rigid thinking, and will persecute and ruin peoples’ lives because of it.
I won’t quit ranting, waving signs, advocating, and voting to make that stop. The big C took my filter and desire to go along to get along away!
Personally, I’ve had more pokes of Moderna than I can count — was on every 4-6mo at one time due to low WBC cause chemo does that. They’re safe. It’s anecdotal but I’m here and not altered. Oh wait, I’m kinda weird so I’m probably their poster child for side effects.
Yeah I’ve had COVID once for sure; one other time suspected but not severe enough to test positive. I’ve had sinus infections that made me feel worse! I attribute that to my many many doses of the vax.
I’ll continue to get the them yearly as my primary care doc recommends and my onc team is on-board with. I do what I’m told now that I have good docs that listen and explain stuff.

Abysmal Conditions For US Service Members
The USS Lincoln aircraft carrier has been deployed to the region for 5 straight months and in its 9th straight month at sea. A routine deployment is 7 months. The Lincoln’s deployment was recently extended.
The ship is crewed by 5000 service members. Families of those serving on the ship are now speaking out about the terrible conditions on the ship.
This is the same ship for which there were reports and photos of the awful food rations back in April. Those were ofc dismissed as “fake news”.
Those on the ship report being so exhausted they fear making deadly mistakes. They report extremely long shifts and rarely getting a day off. This entire shitshow is a deadly mistake! Still, no one should be forced to work to this point of exhaustion. It’s in humane.
Crew members also report moldy showers, non-functional toilets, food shortages, and running out of personal care items. One crew member also reported seeing holes that have worn thru the flight deck.
The spokesperson for the Navy’s 5th fleet denies the holes in the flight deck. If there, that’s obviously a huge risk to aircraft and personnel.
Moldy showers seem like an internal cleaning issue. However, if the crew isn’t being given time to clean or they’re out of cleaning supplies, that’s the fault of those much higher in the chain of command.
It’s becoming clear that he who called our military “suckers and losers” treats them very poorly, even inhumanely.
